We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Driver with a basic understanding of electrical principles to transport goods, materials, and potentially personnel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles and will be expected to perform basic checks and maintenance. A fundamental awareness of electricity will be beneficial for understanding the safe handling of certain equipment or materials.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles (e.g., vans, trucks) in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport goods, materials, and/or personnel to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring the securement of cargo.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and other safety components.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and vehicle records.
- Assist with basic loading and unloading tasks, which may involve handling items with electrical components.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly when dealing with electrical equipment or materials.
- Maintain the cleanliness of assigned vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, colleagues, and clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid South African driver’s license Code 8, 10, or 14).
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Physical ability to load and unload goods (if required).
- Basic understanding of electrical safety and awareness.
